Good Old Rome

Too bad Maximus wasn’t there to greet us.  It was a sunny, cloud less day which made the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Arch of Constantine, Via Sacra and Piazza del Campidoglio majestic.

We admired the Colosseum from the outside walking around it also seeing the Arch of Constantine and Via Sacra since they’re next door.

As we walked down Via dei Fori Imperiali towards Piazza del Campidoglio we had an excellent view of the Roman Forum.

We were eager to visit the Capitoline Museums so we could see 2 Caravaggios; the statues of Spinario, Romulus and Remus; the equestrian bronze of Marcus Aurelius; and so many other wonderful artworks.
